The Morning Star
In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful: [86:1]
By the heaven and the night-visitor!

[86:2]
And what will tell you what the night-visitor is?

[86:3]
The piercing star!

[86:4]
Over every soul there is a keeper.

[86:5]
So let man consider from what he was created.

[86:6]
He was created from a gushing fluid,

[86:7]
issuing from between the loins and the breast-bones.

[86:8]
Assuredly He is able to bring him back

[86:9]
on the day when [all] secrets are inspected,

[86:10]
whereat he will have neither strength, nor any helper.

[86:11]
By the heaven of returns,

[86:12]
and [by] the earth of fissures,

[86:13]
assuredly it is a decisive word,

[86:14]
and it is not a jest.

[86:15]
Indeed they are devising a plot,

[86:16]
and I [too] am devising a plot.

[86:17]
So respite the disbelievers; grant them respite for a little.
